Credit Unions voted Irelands most reputable organisation
We are delighted to share the news that for the fourth consecutive year, credit unions have been recognised as the most reputable organisation in Ireland, topping the Ireland Reputation Index 2026.
With a reputation score of 81.7 credit unions were one of just two organisations to score in the ‘Excellent’ range.
The IRFU, the managing body of the rugby union of Ireland, ranked in second place, with an Excellent tier score of 80.0, with An Post finishing in third place An Post with a score of 79.8.
The annual study, based on the perceptions of over 5,000 members of the public, measures the level of trust, respect, admiration and esteem the public has for 100 of the largest, most familiar and most important organisations in Ireland.
Speaking at the announcement, David Malone, CEO of the ILCU said
“We are delighted that credit unions have been recognised as Ireland’s most reputable organisation for the fourth consecutive year. This recognition reflects the enduring trust that people across Ireland continue to place in their local credit union, alongside the positive response from members to the continued evolution and expansion of our services.
"This ranking is particularly meaningful because it is grounded in the everyday work being carried out by credit unions at the heart of local communities. It speaks to our commitment to remain deeply connected to the communities we serve, while continuing to invest in innovation, digital capability and the future development of our wider services.”
