May Bank Holiday | SEPA Payment Processing Notice

Friday 1st May 2026 is May Day, a European Bank Holiday. Although Irish banks are open, Euro payment clearing systems are closed on this date.

As a result, SEPA Credit Transfers and SEPA Direct Debits due on 1st May will not be processed as normal. Payments submitted in time on Thursday 30th April will be credited/debited on Monday 4th May 2026. Incoming payments from other banks may also credit later than usual.

SEPA Instant, Zippay and internal payments will continue to process as normal.

Members are advised to make payments early to avoid delays over the May Day and Bank Holiday period.
