Community Fund Application Deadline Extended to 24th September 2026

21 August 2026

Community Fund Application Deadline Extended to 24th September 2026

There is still time for local community groups, charities, clubs, and voluntary organisations to apply for support through the North West Credit Union Community Fund.

Due to continued interest, the application deadline has been extended until Thursday, 24th September 2026, giving eligible groups extra time to complete their submissions and avail of this valuable funding opportunity.

The Community Fund supports projects and initiatives that make a positive impact in communities across Donegal and the wider North West. Whether your project focuses on wellbeing, education, inclusion, community development, sport, culture, or environmental improvement, this funding could help bring your plans to life.

Making a Difference in Local Communities

At North West Credit Union, we are committed to supporting the communities we serve. Through the Community Fund, we invest in projects that strengthen local connections, create opportunities, and improve the lives of people across our region.

Earlier this year, we were delighted to announce funding for a range of deserving organisations through our May Community Fund awards. The successful projects highlighted the incredible work taking place in communities throughout the North West and demonstrated the positive impact that local initiatives can have when given the right support.

You can read more about the most recent recipients here: Community Fund Winners Announced | Community Projects 2026
If your group was inspired by the projects featured there, now is your opportunity to apply for support for your own initiative.

Who Should Apply?

The Community Fund welcomes applications from community groups and organisations whose projects will deliver meaningful benefits locally.

Funding may support initiatives that:

  • Promote health and wellbeing
  • Encourage inclusion and accessibility
  • Support educational opportunities
  • Develop sports and recreational activities
  • Strengthen community engagement
  • Enhance social, cultural, and environmental programmes

If your project aims to make a positive difference, we encourage you to apply.

How to Apply

Full details, eligibility criteria, and application guidelines are available on our Community Fund webpage.

Submit your application here: Community Fund

We recommend reviewing the application requirements carefully and submitting your application well in advance of the closing date.

The extension provides an excellent opportunity for groups that may not have had the chance to apply earlier. However, we encourage organisations not to leave their application until the last minute.

Applications now close on Thursday, 24th September 2026.

If your organisation has a project that could benefit your community, we encourage you to take advantage of this funding opportunity and submit your application today.

Together, we can continue supporting the projects, volunteers, and organisations that help our communities thrive.
